Francisco Ayala is Professor of Biological Sciences in the School of
Biological Sciences, Professor of Philosophy in the School of
Humanities and Professor of Logic and the Philosophy of Science in the
School of Social Sciences at the University of California at Irvine.
He is a member of the US National Academy of Sciences, American
Academy of Arts & Sciences and American Philosophical Society. He has
published extensively in the molecular aspects of evolution. He has 30
books, including the recently published Darwin’s Gift (2007).
